www.keyfobprogram.com/fd1 – Ford Keyless Remote Key Fob Programming Instructions 1

www.keyfobprogram.com/fd1

FORD REMOTE – THIS PROCEDURE RESETS ALL REMOTES FOR THE VEHICLE.  ALL FUNCTIONING REMOTES WILL HAVE TO BE REPROGRAMMED DURING THE PROCEDURE

There are a few different procedures that will program your remotes depending on what vehicle that you have. You can find your exact procedure in your owners manual. If you do not have your owners manual you can try any of the procedures below until you find the one that works for your vehicles

Make sure that you don’t press the brake pedal at any time during or before the procedure.

Procedure A:

1.Close all doors, then open drivers door and press the Unlock button on driver’s door while it is open, insert key into ignition.
2.Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 8 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. (if the door locks do not cycle, then it  was done incorrectly. You must start over by removing key and beginning  from step 1)

(Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the position just shy of starting your car.)

3.Within 10 seconds press any button on the first keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. If you only have one remote then skip to step 5.
4.Within 10 seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. Repeat step 4. for all other remotes.
5.Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Procedure B:
1. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 3 seconds.
2. Turn the ignition OFF. The system will chime to confirm programming mode.
3. Within 10 seconds, press any button on first keyless remote. The system will chime once to confirm programming.
4. Within 10 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote. System will chime once to confirm programming.
5. Turn ignition to RUN to exit programming mode.

Please note: All steps should be performed in fairly rapid succession. If you never get the initial chime or door lock cycle, that means the vehicle has never entered programming mode. You should remove key from ignition, open and close the door and start over.

Here is an example of how to program a ford key fob

  • William Johnson

    Thanks

    • iksupply

      No problem, thank you!

  • David Lindsey

Are there any other ways for a 2010 Crown Vic, no method I have tried will work.

    • iksupply

      David,

The first method should work for you. Are you door locks cycling after cycling the key 8 times?

  • Eric

I can’t get an 03 Focus to enter programming mode, any suggestions?

    • iksupply

      Yes, please try this procedure.

      1. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 6 seconds.

      2. Turn the ignition OFF. The system will chime to confirm programming mode.

      3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on first keyless remote.
The system will chime once to confirm programming.

      4. Within 20 seconds, press any button on second keyless remote.
System will chime once to confirm programming.

      5. Turn ignition to RUN to exit programming mode.

  • R. Delfs

It took several tries but it works great. Thanks

    • iksupply

Great! Thanks for purchasing from us!

  • Dan Rutledge

Have a 98 ford explorer sport ive tried all methods to get the fob to work with no luck any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

    • iksupply

Are your door locks cycling after performing step 2 in Procedure A?

      • Dan Rutledge

Yes,tried procedure b to no luck there either.

    • charles

I have a 97 explorer cannot get my remote to work, was sent one for 98 ford could this be the problem?

  • John W

    Hi – I m having trouble programming with a 2003 Windsatr.

    • iksupply

R your door locks cycling after performing step 2 in Procedure A?

      • John W

        No, the locks never cycle.

I have tried going from lock to off, then off to on 8 times, 6 times, 9 times, etc…
I have tried going from lock to on 8 times…
What about door open/close locked unlocked, etc? Any suggestions in that area?

This is my late father-in-law’s van and he had someone (at the dealer, I think), install some aftermarket DVD/TV/remote CD Player. I think the wiring may be altered… I have a red light mounted at the bottom left of the dash and a on/off toggle switch mounted on the bottom right. I don’t know if these are stock. The red light flashes when the alarm is armed and the switch doesn’t seem to do anything.

  • Otto

Just received the new remote for my 2003 F150. Read the included instructions and followed them to reprogram the one existing and the new remote.
    Closed all doors
    Opened driver’s door
Hit unlock button on the driver’s door (and kept the door open)
Inserted key into ignition turned 8 times stopped in ON position, heard the doors lock and unlock on their own
Hit a key on the new remote, first nothing happened but then the door locks cycled
Then hit a key on the existing remote nothing happened
Turned the key to OFF position, door locks cycled again.
Tried remotes: the unlock button on the new remote locks the doors the lock button does not do anything (something went wrong). Existing remote does nothing (so it seems to be reset)
    Any suggestions?

    • Mike

you only have 4 seconds to hit both fob’s

  • Robert94518

I have a 2003 Ford Explorer and I have tried both methods and I can not get into programing mode

    • Robert94518

Never mind, I found this has an aftermarket keyless entry. Marksman.

      • Richardjwiltgen

The above discussion caused me some concern. I just received two new key fobs for my 2011 Ford Ranger pickup. I was informed by the dealer after purchasing the truck that they had installed an aftermarket keyless keypad on the door. Will that in any way adversely affect the programming of the new key fobs?

        • iksupply

Hmmm, to be honest, I’m not sure how that would effect the system. It won’t hurt to try and program it though so give it a shot and see what happens.

  • Hillary

Okay shipping time, would’ve like it earlier. Couldn’t figure out the website at first & called in,gentleman I spoke with was very helpful and nice, after correcting my mistake of the website, I got it programmed & if was to ever need another key fob would purchase it through them!

  • Yoni Moskow

I am not sure what all the issues are that people are having here, but I just got the fob today and went to my 2004 Ford F250 6.0 that has a key pad entry for the doors as well and programed both remotes in under 1 min. The process could not be any easier and the directions could not be any clearer. READ what they write for the directions they work!

  • James

My fob programs correctly and works wonders…till I step away about 5 feet from my car. After a few steps the fob stops working. In which I reprogrammed it and it works till once again.. I walk away. Any ideas?

    • Tony

I have the same issue. I programmed it, was able to use it only from inside the car.

      • iksupply

Tony, Did we ever get this sorted out for you?

    • iksupply

      James,

I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Did we ever get this sorted for you?

  • Guest

Tried this many times with both a 2004 Lincoln LS and 2005 Aviator. No cycle, no anything.

  • G. Opdyke

First off, my fob came much earlier than I expected. Thank you.
My first effort to program failed and I started to think thoughts of being ripped off and haveing bad luck. Then….I did what I was supposed to do and read the instructions completely. When I tried again and did it the right way, it worked. Of course.
I’m very pleased with the product and the price.
    Thank you very much.

I have the same issue with my 2005 escape.
      Order #108-0792067-8710647

      • Mikhail

Funny, I tried to ‘play’ with the problem a bit today, programming works fine on both new and old OEM remote (reprogrammed in one sequence with the new one). Both work inside the car, but only the old OEM outside.
And it got interesting when I tried to understand what specifically ‘inside’ meant: I lowered driver’s window and moved the new remote 2mm inside the car perimeter – works, 2mm outside – doesn’t :)

  • GR Janny Dempsey

Hey, this was about as easy as it gets! I followed the instructions on the video exactly and was done in less than 1 minute. Thanks!

  • chris lair

Attempted several time. The vehicle door locks will cycle through but when push the key fobs it will not set. 2004 Ford Excursion.

  • Eric

2012 Ford Focus -Tried 1st method a few times, then tried 2nd method which worked. Car gave me a tone telling me ready for programming. Same tone after I hit each button. Programmed 2 existing keys, then 2 new fobs in one swoop! Thanks!!!

    • Dean Lollis

Didn’t work on my 2012 Focus!

  • Rochelle Penik

I just received my fob for my 99 mustang. Followed directions and the new fob will not unlock the car. Any suggestions???

  • tolosita

perfect one minute and i was done

  • Steve

It programmed correctly, but only works when I hold it under the dash – 2005 Ford Escape. Bad Battery?

    • Adapt

Did you try a fresh battery yet? Did it work?

      • Steve

No, but they sent me a new internal. I popped it into the case with the original battery and it works great. It looked different than the first one. Newer model?

        • Adapt

I don’t know. I just bought my first replacement. It looks like the original.

  • Adapt

I chose method B first for my 02 focus. Took about 10 seconds. works great. no lag.

    • Dean Lollis

Didn’t work on my 2012 Focus, Tried both methods.

  • Richard Allen Taylor Sr.

neither work on my 2000 ford F150, what know?

  • Jack Woodson

Is there a limit on the number on the number of fob’s that can be programmed? I already had 4 programmed, bought 2 from you but when tried to program all 6,, could only do 4.

  • Scott

So, doesn’t this mean that everyone who purchases a remote and follows these instructions will have the exact same keyless “code”, since we are reprogramming the car, not the remote? Therefore, if everyone in the parking lot purchased one of these, wouldn’t my remote open all of them?

    • iksupply

No, these remotes all have rolling codes in the millions. There will be no crossover.

  • Deborah Haviland

Worked for me with my 2007 Mercury Mountaineer. Thanks!

  • Christopher Davis

Didn’t work for my 2009 crown Vic patrol car. What else can I do?

  • Jennifer Harris Hepworth

I tried procedure A as outlined in the owners manual. After the 8 turns the locks cycle like it said and then when I push the FOB nothing happens. I have tried a few times with no luck. Any suggestions? Why wouldn’t it work if it’s a brand new FOB?

  • Jim Boling

2003 Ranger Edge. Reprogrammed original and replacement in 10 seconds or less. Took me about 30 seconds to realize that it’s the 2nd and 3rd key positions that are off & run. So you have to turn the key one click to position 2 then cycle it 8 times between position 2 & 3… stopping on 3.

  • Dean Lollis

    2012 Ford Focus, Remote,
Neither method worked, Tried several times. Also have an issue with the “My Key” application, I’d like to disable it, since it limits many options as well as speed, radio volume ect, any help out there. Please respond!!!!

    • iksupply

two minutes. Thanks for making it easy.

  • Terry Foster

My Explorer has a after market car alarm on it. (The vehicle didn’t come with one from Ford.) Will these fobs still work on it?

    • iksupply

Probably need. You may need to get the alarm disabled.

  • Dan Pinkham

    • iksupply

Awesome! Please remember to leave 5 star positive on the site that you purchased from!

  • Achilleas Jenny Antoniades

Focus 2000. Both new FOB keys work perfectly.Used method B. Method A did not work. My original one does not. Why?

    • iksupply

You need to reprogram all existing remotes any time that you program new ones. Simply do the procedure again and press a button on every remote during the procedure.

  • karls auto Repair

2000 mercury grand marquis, fobs wont program, item ID 171213317734

  • David Slusny

I just got mine in the mail and neither procedure will work… My truck is a 1999 ford F150???

    • Mike

try going 8 times to on position (ignitionkey) doors will lock unlock then press a button on the fob

      • David Slusny

I keep trying but can’t get it to go into program mode… It’s an xlt and says in the book take to dealership to program fob

        • Mike

i’m pretty sure f150 and explorer 1999 are the same fob sequence, mine is also an xlt. You have to be very fast about the 8 turns then you have to wait a few seconds for the lock and unlock, then press a button on the fob. If the fob is not working but you are getting the lock and unlock then you need to check your batteries or the receiver in the car (you would then have to take it in to a dealership for that).

          • Mike

also make sure you are leaving the car in the on position the 8th turn

    • iksupply

Do your original fobs look exactly the ones you received? If there was an aftermarket system, original style ones won’t program. Also, please try doing the procedure with the door closed.

  • Mike

ON the 99 exploder it is turn car to on position 8 times doors will lock unlock to confirm programming mode within 4 seconds press the buttons on your fob’s that you are programming

  • Lonnie Oglesby

followed the instructions now my 2000 ford mustang will not unlock with the controls on the driver’s side. the remote unlocks the trunk and the horn beeps when I press lock twice on the remote I last
knew my controls to work properly four days prior to doing the procedure.

    • iksupply

The remotes would actually have nothing to do with that. That would be a setting on your keyless entry system. Also, usually you have to press Unlock twice in order to unlock all other doors.

  • Jenny

Just programmed three key fobs for my 2005 Ford Escape xlt using procedure A. It worked perfectly.

  • Mark Ball

Watch the video twice and you can’t mess it up. Worked for me in one try right out of the pack.

  • Lois Martin-Fritz

I too just received my new remote for my 2003 taurus and I hear the locks unlock…but the Remote doesnt work..did it come with a battery….do you think its the battery???

  • jon

Tried on my 03 mustang and still wont work. never goes into program mode. Replaced the gem module cause ford said i was throwin codes. still wont go in.
